The staff of Computer Concepts has more than 67 years of combined experience in the computer, networking and telecom industries.  Our employees hold certifications from Microsoft, Sonicwall, GIAC, and CompTIA, to name a few. Like a lot of other professions, continuing education is crucial to the continued success of our business.  While we may not be pursuing certifications every day, we are constantly educating ourselves and applying that education to come up with creative solutions for our customers.

My life as a tech guy began in 1984 in the Information Services department at the City of Lafayette.   Starting out as a computer operator on an IBM 4381 mainframe, I quickly advanced to applications programmer, followed by systems programmer.   During those years, I was heavily involved with integrating the city’s PC networks with the mainframe environment. 

In 1998, I left the City of Lafayette, and went to work for Southern Structures as an application programmer.   Shortly after arriving at Southern Structures, I realized that application programming really was not where my heart was, and in early 1999, began laying the foundation for what would become Computer Concepts.   In January 2000, Computer Concepts of Lafayette, LLC was officially registered with the Louisiana Secretary of State.   I guess you could say that the rest is history. 

Today, you may not see much of me when it comes to handling our customers’ daily technical needs.   Fortunately for me, I’ve been able to show up at the office and work with some very talented and dedicated people for the past twenty plus years.   There is no doubt that without the help of those employees, we would not still be in business today. 

By far, the best part of being a small business owner is that I get to work with, and for, some of the best customers that anyone could ever ask for.   Many have become close personal friends, and I will always treasure that.   You guys know who you are, and you make it all worth getting up in the morning for another day of insanity in the world of Information Technology. 

Scott started working at Computer Concepts in July 2013. He has more than 24 years of IT experience, and has a great work ethic. Never one to back down from a challenge, he continues to educate himself on current technologies that have proven to be quite beneficial to our customers. Recently, he received his certification as a Storage Craft Master Engineer. He has experience with firewalls and security appliances from SonicWALL, Cisco, Check Point, and Sophos.

When Scott first came to work for Computer Concepts, he was a dyed in the wool Microsoft guy, and just couldn’t imagine why in the world anyone would want to use something else. Mentioning a Mac or Linux around him during those early years was enough to give him heart palpitations. And Peachtree? Who uses Peachtree? In spite of this, he took the initiative to learn more about alternative solutions, and today, is quite comfortable supporting all of our customers’ support needs.

When Scott isn’t working, you’ll often find him at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, LA, where he is active in the choir. In addition to his singing abilities, he assists them with running their sound systems.

Becky joined the staff of Computer Concepts in January 2004. She hit the ground running, and hasn’t let up since, which is a real testament to her abilities and dedication. She handles all of the day-to-day operations including answering phones, all aspects of accounting, and keeps the guys on track, whether they want her to or not.
